Garage Sales
I live in cottage country and it astounds me how many garage sales their are in my area. Some people are making a living at it having one every weekend. I go and i look and occasionally i buy and then i got to wondering "what if" I had a garage sale? I began to look around at my treasures. Could i part with them? Would people want them? What price do i ask for them? How much bargaining am i prepared to do.
We moved here last year and i brought everything with me as we did not have enough time to organize a sale as we were working on our new house and finishing things up for our old house.
The more i look around in each room of the house and each corner of my garage the more i know i need to have a garage sale.
Timing is everything and so not on a long weekend, check local events, see which family members are working and when and decide on a date.
Note to self: Tell daughter to clean room 3 weeks in advance and let her know so she can sell off her treasures and make more room for more unwanted or unneeded junk, i mean treasures.
It also amazes me about cottagers the stuff they don't want in their houses they put into their cottages but alas this will be good for me.
Note to self: Make room in garage for treasures to sell.
The day is nearly upon us and this weekend we will have 2 days of treasure bargains for sale.
The signs will be posted, the treasure seekers will arrive early so as not to miss out on our great bargains and they will haggle over a potato peeler or an antique jug and eventually it will all go and if they make a good offer i won't have to take it up the road to the dump.
One man's garbage is another man's treasures.
Ahoy matey, come and seek some treasures.
